From seed to shelf: a unique opportunity to understand the needs & challenges of the cannabis supply chain at June 8 event

Apr 03, 2023

NY Cannabis Insider is hosting an industry meetup at The Distillery at Beak & Skiff (home of ayrloom) on June 8 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tickets are going fast and are available here. This limited-ticket event will bring together current and hopeful licensees, entrepreneurs, attorneys, politicians and more for an intimate discussion about the history, heritage, and evolution of the Beak & Skiff brand, challenges and needs within the cannabis supply chain, and an opportunity to network and get business planning advice.

"We’re always impressed with the sponsors and speakers at NY Cannabis Insider events—just a great group of people from across the industry," said recent event participant Colin B. from Grand Street Cannabis Co.

The event will feature a brief panel discussion with industry experts from the ayrloom/1911/Beak & Skiff brands along with one of their retailers, Union Square Travel Agency, to add an additional perspective from another part of the supply chain. The conversation will focus on learnings from a brand that has evolved from a 110-year-old family farm to a well-known market leader in the hemp and cannabis industry. There will be a chance for attendees to interact directly with the panelists during and after a Q&A, along with open networking time to meet others in the industry.

Why attend?

· Ask questions and hear different perspectives from the supply chain on industry-specific challenges and needs: Learn from the panelists and NY Cannabis Insider content team about navigating the NYS recreational cannabis market from seed to sale. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions after the brief guided discussion.

· Build regional connections in the industry: Grow your professional network by meeting cannabis industry professionals from different fields such as retail/dispensary, laboratory/testing, manufacturing, cultivation, logistics and industry-adjacent support services.

· Meet with professional who offer free business consults onsite

We will have several onsite sponsors who will be available to help answer business-related questions and advice/guidance from the following topics: accounting, security, and marketing specific to the cannabis industry.

Panelists sharing their perspectives include:

· Eddie Brennan: president of Beak & Skiff/Beak & Skiff Research, a five-generation family business founded in 1911 and a grower/processor based in Upstate NY.

· Mack Hueber: as CFO of Beak & Skiff and 1911 Est., Mack oversees the new licensed cannabis processor/cultivator company "Gen V" and the launch of its new NY owned and grown brand, ayrloom. Gen V specializes in growing, extracting and manufacturing regulated cannabis products both under the ayrloom brand as well as for others including beverages, vapes and edibles.

· Dave Vautrin: as operating partner at Union Square Travel Agency, a cannabis store, Vautrin supports a range of strategic functions as well as lead the procurement and portfolio for Union Square's retail operations.

General admission includes all-access to the speakers, networking with attendees, mini consultations for business planning provided by sponsors and vendors, and a complimentary beverage provided by 1911 Established.
