DALLAS ( WBZ NewsRadio ) — The bar where "everybody knows your name" has sold at auction for much more than a pint of beer.

Dallas-based Heritage Auctions announced Saturday that the bar used in the hit NBC sitcom "Cheers" sold for $675,000 at a recent auction of nearly 1,000 props from classic television shows.

The listing included three wood-paneled counter sections, studio-painted with faux woodgrain and attached brass rail arm rests and footrests. It also featured removable, chromed, double back bar beer taps, a custom wooden shelf, a wooden back bar rolling shelf, six walnut bar stools covered in red leatherette with brass foot rail details, and a group of six brass light fixtures. Etchings of some of the main cast members' names, including John Ratzenberger and Kirstie Alley, are carved into the bar top.

The bar's cash register was sold separately for $40,000.

Other items sold at the auction went for large sums. Batman and Robin costumes worn by Adam West and Burt Ward in the 1960s "Batman" TV show went for $615,000, the set of "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson" sold for $275,000, and the set of "All in the Family" sold for $125,000.

The props and sets came from The Comisar Collection, a comprehensive archive of original television memorabilia.
